Rumor has it he knows who’s been naughty or nice before Christmas even hits—though he just laughs when asked.

Guests swear the air in the lobby smells faintly of ozone and lavender, and that the mirrors never show quite what they should. Ambrose calls himself a “caretaker of order,” though old tales suggest he’s something older—a hearth sprite who outgrew homes and took to mansions instead.

People whisper she’s a witch because lights come on before she reaches the switch, and she always seems to know when someone’s moving out before they do.
The ravens that perch on the roof seem to like her, though, and sometimes they leave her small offerings: a ring, a key, a single white feather. She keeps them all in a glass bowl by the office door.
